What We Do:
GFWC Four Corners Jr. Woman's Club
The General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) is an international women's organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service across the United States and beyond. Our local Club, the GFWC Four Corners Jr. Woman's Club, supports many organizations locally, statewide, nationally and internationally.
GFWC supports thousands of organizations through service projects and together — we can make a big difference. No matter what your volunteer passions are, chances are great that we will be working with a similar project in our own community.
Our History
The SW Orlando Championsgate Jr.Woman's Club was founded on May 17, 2008. On July 28, 2009 the membership of the SW Orlando Championsgate Jr. Woman's Club voted by e-mail to change the name to the GFWC Four Corners Jr. Woman’s Club. The name change was accepted September 19, 2009 and announced at the FFWC Board of Directors Meeting. The club continues to operate under this name.
The club is dedicated to serving and improving the quality of life in the Four Corners Community through volunteer service. In the first year of service to our community, we were honored with 4 recognition awards on a state level — and we're not stopping there! Click here for a list of our Past Presidents.
Meetings
We meet once a month for lunch for a small fee ($5), have guest speakers, learn something new and provide a community service project — all in about one hour a month! Our annual dues are only $50. Any woman over the age of 18 years old is open to attend our Club as a guest and then apply for membership if they wish to do so. For our Membership Application, please click here.
Political, Religious & Personal Affiliations
We have provided as an example, voter registration information to the Four Corners Community but our club does not have a political affiliation; we will be meeting at the brand new Community of Faith Church in June but that does not mean that we are a religious organization of any kind or have an affiliation with a specific denomination as we do not. We believe in Unity in Diversity.
This woman’s club wishes to communicate clearly that it does not take a side on the pro life and pro choice issue, we are here simply to provide a community volunteer service in helping raise funds to provide baby items for some teenagers who have become pregnant and are receiving guidance and assistance through JMJ Life Center.
Our Future
The future plans of GFWC Four Corners Jr. Woman's Club is to help provide a Four Corners Woman’s Resource Center to a benefit to any and all women in the four counties of Polk, Lake, Orange and Osceola Counties and therefore helping all four counties domestic violence shelters not just Help Now of Osceola County.
